Shauna Ward

Blue Wahoo are proud to announce the sponsorship of Irish charger Shauna Ward. Bundoran born Shauna, is one of the emerging young talents from the Emerald Isle, fully commited to travelling the globe and furthering a successful surfing career.

Shauna’s list of competitive conquests to date includes Irish Junior Champion 2003 and Irish Women’s Senior Champion which she won at age 16, becoming the youngest female winner in the history of the contest. Shauna then went on to compete in the World surfing games in Ecuador, where she competed against legends including Sofia Mulanovich and was placed 19th in the contest.

Having grown up surfing with Irish talent Cain Kilcullen, Easkey Britton and coached by Zoe Lally, Shauna’s one of the young, Irish rippers that are taking Europe’s surfing scene by storm. Having now completed her schooling Shauna’s focus and ambitions for the next 12 months include this year’s World Junior Championships and finally being able to take time to travel the globe for serious wave searching.

Blue Wahoo’s emergence into UK action sports has seen the company recently assemble the Blue Wahoo team. Currently UK kitesurfers Annalisa Dovey and Martyn Bone are competing within BKSA events and the sponsorship of Irish surfing events such as the Women’s Wet n’ Wild Weekend and Gold Coast’s Wave Jam kitesurfing contest strenghtens the brand’s strategy to get involved with European action sports and the progression of UK and Irish athletes.
